All about Sansevieria

Sansevieria also known as snake plant or mother-in-law's tongue purifies the air by absorbing toxins and producing oxygen. Sansevieria is considered as an ideal indoor plant and as the most tolerant plant that can survive the most unsuitable growing conditions and neglect a plant could receive. It is excellent for first-time gardeners and apartment dwellers with lighting issues.

Easy to maintain

Sansevieria is a less demanding plant and is very easy to maintain. This plant can be neglected for a week but is still looking fresh with its evergreen sword-shaped leaves.


Lighting for Sansevieria

Sansevieria is a wonderful plant that can tolerate a variety of lighting conditions. This plant is highly adaptable but prefer medium to bright indirect light but can also survive lower light or direct sunlight.


Soil for Sansevieria

Sanseveria grows well with a free-draining soil mix. It is prone to root rot when the potting mix doesn't drain well. A soil-free potting mix can ensure adequate drainage to avoid root rot. A terracotta pot is also a good choice for it doesn't trap water.


Water requirement of Sansevieria

Be careful when watering your snake plants. Overwatering can kill Sansevierias due to root rot. Watering can be done once a week or when you see that the potting mix is already dry. As sansevierias preferred to dry out completely between waterings.


With its easy-growing and attractive foliage, Sansevierias are well known as air-purifying plants. It can absorb poisonous gases in the air and produces nighttime oxygen. A lovely decorative piece of plant that is easy to grow and less demanding makes Sansevierias a good pick for anyone.
